What is Chico's turning into? Maybe not all stores are the same; however, the store near me is getting worse every time I go in.

I've been a Passport Member for 20 years, and absolutely always got excited every time I entered the store. Just seeing all the different clothes gave me a thrill!

Now, however, the racks are full of all different size clothes intermingled, and some I've never seen before in catalogs or other stores. It actually looks like a bargain basement. I can never find anything I even want to try on.

The clothes are downright ugly and old looking! I still try to give the store the benefit of the doubt and occasionally will check in. Much to my dismay, the clothes are getting worse.

Where are they coming from???? They have the Chico's label, but look like they're 20-30 years old.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

I agree. I shopped at Chicoโ€™s and was lucky if I got out of there only spending 300 dollars and now they couldnโ€™t give me anything. Clothes are ugly and the styles are horrible

I agree that many of Chico's offerings are unwearable because they are truly ugly. Their printed clothes have never been smart looking.

Please Chicos, hire some talented designers. Your loyal Passport customers will thank you.

Just got back from returning four tops - same size I've always worn. Sloppy fit, way less quality. Totally not the same store.

Iโ€™m also a 20 year passport member. Something isnโ€™t right with the company.

Clothes are terrible, ugly, old looking. Iโ€™ve moved onto J Mclaughlin.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I used to look forward t the new catalogs and a few things would catch my eye. Now.....yuck.

I also have been a Passport member for about 20 years and I am so very disappointed in the new line of clothes - comparing them to Alfred Dunner is right!

The style of the clothes are older looking and the fabric's are cheeper, like rayon. I expect more fashion forward styles.

Not the conservative old lady looking styles. I am 64 years old, I do not dress old.

Nor do I want to dress like a 20 or 30 year old. Chico's always had styles that made me feel current and that was faltering.

Agree. I have been thinking of writing to the company CEO.

I hate to see what is happening to the company I always have relied on. Selfishly I am very bummed. I hate to ask this, but has anyone found another company to take their place? The fabrics and stitching are different.

The styles have become too ordinary and dowdy. The clothes do not fit as well as they use to. Perhaps they changed where they use to manufacture them? I wish corporate would reach out to customers.

Looks like their sales might be drastically down.

Just read about all of the layoffs they are doing. It is sad to watch, but the powers that be do not seem to be paying attention.

Who is doing the buying for Chicoโ€™s? Apparently it is someone who is having a nightmare!

In 40 years as a Chicoโ€™s customer, I have never witnessed such terrible choices of patterns in materials.

The original founder with such great taste must be turning over in her grave! I wouldnโ€™t be caught dead in 90% of their clothing today?

I too have noticed a change and certainly not for the better. I have been a passport member since the Chico card had Chico the parrot on it.

I am disappointed in the selections. The quality has definitely gone down and the color selection is no longer vibrant. What is up?

I have started buying more and more from J Jill. Will stop being a very loyal customer of Chicoโ€™s unless they return to the quality they once had.

There is a definite decline in style and quality.

natural fabrics and better colors needed. I too quit shopping almost 10 yrs ago Just looked at website: it's much worse!

I'm not sure how this company can survive the way it's going. I noticed a distinct lowering of standards and quality over 5 years ago, around the same time that they were trying to appeal to a "younger" consumer at the expense of their original target base.

Ripped jeans, cold shoulders, cheap fabric, abandoning their classic looks in favor of gimmicks. Complaints fall on deaf ears. Younger people have a plethora of places to shop. They don't want to shop at Chicos.

Duh! They keep firing their CEOs to no avail. Look Chico, we don't want a CEO who worked at Bebe, we want one who is committed to the 50+ woman who wants to look chic. Otherwise your stock will continue to plummet.

Fortune has already told you what your business practice problems are. Is anyone there listening?

I am hanging on to a few old pieces of Chico's - velvet jackets, nice fabrics, artsy looks from BACK IN THE DAY -- Went into a chico's store the other day and thought I was in an Alfred Dunner outlet. WHAT HAPPENED.

Actually Alfred Dunner has better fabrics.

Poly knit tops with One World type prints that pill after the first wearing?? CHEAP CHEAP stuff --

As long as idiot women keep buying like that Doobie58 or whatever her aka number was. Anyone seen her review pretty much every single item?

She'd buy everything without waiting for the mandatory sales, the 50% coupons, at very least the 40% off.

She is part of the problem. Banana Republic went downhill fast from an exotic safari classy look to flimsy shirt in see-through, dissolve in the wash fabric with sleeves that barely fit a size 0 even if you buy XL, and that clueless millennials keep buying !

Totally concur. I also have been a Passport member for 20+ years and may have just made my last purchase. Ultimate Tee, washed once and it literally shrunk 3 inches.

I agree with these comments. For the past 16 to 20 years, I have been able to shop on line and be assured of the sizing.

Now it seems they are trying to attract younger women and have too many new and different styles and sizing and have completely abandoned their core style (platinum) where sizing was always consistent.

As I recall, I started to notice this shift when they came out with the โ€œso slimmingโ€ brand and suddenly all of their clothing had spandex. Not necessarily an attractive feature for older women.

Guest

I agree. They have lost their way and are not amenable to customer feedback.
